Most of you have probably have seen the “like a girl” campaign from Always. If you haven’t seen the video yet, take a moment to go watch it! Now that you have taken the time to watch the video, how do you feel? Hopefully empowered! Whether you are a girl or not, or have a daughter, the video is eye opening.
What do you think when you hear “like a girl”?
Before you took the moment to watch the video you probably thought “like a girl” as an insult. However, “like a girl” should NOT be considered an insult. This video campaign redefines the meaning of that saying completely. 72% of girls feel like society limits them. It’s time to rewrite the rules. “Like a girl” is not an insult, it’s a compliment.
Breaking Social Norms
There are many ads and campaigns out there that want us and help us to break social norms and to empower women. “Like a Girl” is one of many campaigns that is out there rooting for us to not necessarily to be equal but to be proud of who we are and to always give our best no matter what our gender is. Like we said before, “like a girl” is a compliment. So whether you’re a girl or boy and your giving it your all (regardless of what you are doing in life), that is that matters! Gender does not define our ability for greatness.
Lift Like a Girl
We encourage you all to get out there and give it the best you got, boy or girl. What does it mean to you to lift like a girl? We hope that it means that no matter what your gender, you’re going to go out there and give it all you got! The next time you step foot in the gym, challenge yourself. Challenge yourself to lift heavier, challenge yourself to run further and faster, challenge yourself to new workouts.
We hope after reading this you feel inspired to go out there and give it your all, no matter, in the gym, or just in life. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We want you all to succeed, so go out there and lift like a girl!
