It’s the beginning of the year and a lot of us have made New Year’s resolutions. Maybe one of the goals you made this year was to improve your ski and snowboarding strength. At Inward Fitness, we offer classes for ski and snowboard conditioning. Skiing and Snowboarding both require you to have strong legs, a strong core, and good balance. Now, we are going to give you our top exercises to strengthen you for the slopes!
Top Exercises for Better Skiing and Snowboarding
As we said before, skiing and snowboarding requires you to have strong legs. Step-ups will definitely help increase your leg strength and your balance all at once!
Plank and Side Planks-
Planks are a great exercise to get your core strong. Side Planks are great for balance and getting the obliques! A strong core is important, don’t leave these out!
Have you ever experienced low back pain while on the slopes? We suggest adding supermans to your routine. These will help strengthen your lower back.
BOSU Ball Exercises
They are many exercises you can do on the bosu ball that will help your strength and balance! Here are some of our favorites:
- BOSU Push-Ups
- BOSU Squats
- BOSU Pop Squats
- BOSU Burpees
- BOSU Alternating Toe Taps (aiming for the top of the BOSU Ball)
Increasing your strength and your balance are key for strong slope runs. We hope you can utilize these exercises to help get your stronger on the slopes! As always, if you have any questions, please contact us. We hope you enjoy the rest of the ski and snowboarding season!
