For most people, the New Year = Resolutions. And while many people start out strong, as the year goes on, motivation may dwindle. To prevent that from happening, we have listed a few tips to help you stay on track with your goals this year.

1. One Goal at a Time

You may feel like you can tackle 3 goals at once, but in reality you will be more successful at achieving them if you focus on one goal at a time. Not to mention, small daily improvements are the key to LONG-TERM success.

2. Plan Ahead

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Achieving your goals doesn’t come easy, you have to work for it! Planning ahead is one of the easiest ways to prevent your goals from derailing. For example, if your goal is to stop eating out then taking the time to make meals the night before is needed so that your goal isn’t derailed. No excuses – plan ahead.

3. Set Time Frames

It’s easy for us to put things off. The classic saying, “I’ll start next week” is annoyingly overused. By setting time frames, you won’t allow yourself to take a few days off because you know you have to hit your goal by a certain date. Hold yourself accountable.

4. Build Healthy Habits

Did you know that it takes approximately 66 days to create a habit? And only 1 day to ruin it. In order to achieve (and maintain) your goals, you must make it a habit (just like brushing your teeth). You will find that once you make it a priority, progress will come easier. Persistence is key!

5. Surround Yourself With Support

You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Therefore, if you’re hanging out with people who don’t support or motivate you, then you will probably have a hard time achieving your goals. Surround yourself with positive people who want the best for you and perhaps share the same interest and enthusiasm as you.

Good things take time, But you CAN do it. And if you ever feel like giving up, just remember why you started! Need help getting started or staying accountable with your goals? Contact us today!
